We must make Nigeria work despite political leaders’ failure – OAP Expensive

Multiple award-winning broadcaster, philanthropist and convener of Help One Foundation, Mr James Emmanuel Expensive (aka De General Badman),  weekend said as patriotic citizens, it is the responsibility of Nigerians to make things work in the country and not give up because other people failed the country.

Addressing journalists, Saturday in Abuja, shortly after being inaugurated as one of the 1,000 Peace Ambassadors of Nigeria by the Peace Ambassadors Advocacy Network Nigeria (PAAN),  he advised the federal government to make life comfortable for Nigerians as the country celebrates 64 years of independence from Britain.

He said: “Every human being must be happy when being awarded. I’m grateful. I appreciate this award as it will encourage me and other recipients to do more. Before now, we’ve been promoting peace. For those of you that know me and listen to my program, I’m a peace ambassador already. I am a peace-loving, patriotic citizen of this country.

“As a patriotic citizen, the Nigeria’s independence is worthy to be celebrated because we’re alive. Second, it is our responsibility to make things work, so we will not say if some other people have failed, we should allow the country to fail.

“It is our responsibility as Nigerians and patriotic citizens to contribute our own quota to the growth of the country. So, maybe in the next two years or four years, Nigeria will be better than where it is today and that is my dream.

“The government should listen to the cry of the people. They say the voice of the people is the voice of God. If the people are agitating for what they are lacking, I appeal to the government to listen to the people.

“Do what they want. That is governance. Government should listen to the people and give them comfort. Presently, what we need is comfort because we are not comfortable. So, if government gives us comfort, I think the sky is a starting point.”
