We laid solid foundation for incoming governor – Bello 

 

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has expressed gratitude to the people of the state, his cabinet members and all those who served in his administration for their support, adding that he has laid solid foundation for incoming governor to build upon. 

The governor stated this during a valedictory state executive council meeting held at the Council Chambers of the Government House, Minna, weekend. 

“I must thank Nigerlites because they have been very kind to me. We all met in the course of this movement and we don’t know where we will need each other’s help in the future but managing relationships is very important,” he said.

The governor described the governor-elect, Umar Bago, as a friend and brother and assured Nigerlites of a formidable team that will propel more development in the coming administration.

 He said, “We have laid a lot of foundation and all the incoming governor needs to do is to put a little more effort and take the credit.”

He commended his council members and secretariat for their resilience and dedication to work, urging them to make themselves available to the incoming administration whenever their advices and institutional memories are needed to enable them thread on the right path.

Also speaking, the governor-elect, Umar Bago, described Governor Bello as an honest and neutral leader, adding that his neutrality made him the governor-elect.

He then assured the governor of continuing all the projects he has initiated for the overall benefit of the people of the state. 

Under the eight years administration of Governor Bello, 45 commissioners; 58 permanent secretaries were appointed, 150 Executive Council Meetings held with 665 Council Memoranda; 150 council conclusions and 135 council notes.
