We don’t oppose Taraba ministerial nominee, says APC

The Taraba state APC Publicity Secretary, Mr Aaron Artimas, Thursday said no member of the party is against the nomination of Engr Sale Mamman as ministerial representative for Taraba in the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Aaron in a press statement issued in Jalingo said  all APC members in the state expressed their gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari over the nomination of Egnr Mamman as ministerial nominee for Taraba state.

The statement said allegation by some disgruntled people that the state APC executive committee was opposed to the nomination of the ministerial nominee was not only false but wicked insinuations.

It said it was imperative for the clarification by the exco as well as a formal declaration of support, endorsement and delight with the nomination of Egnr Sale Mamman as ministerial candidate representing the state.

“All Taraba state APC supports the nomination of Egnr Mamman as ministerial representative for Taraba in the Federal Executive Council.

“The APC in Taraba state hereby restates our profound appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for choosing a worthy and highly qualified party man to represent our state in the Federal Executive Council.

“As one of the oldest members of our party, Egnr Mamman has not only diligently served our party, but also has handled many positions of responsibility at the national level and is well known to the president” the statement said.

Further, the party said Egnr Mamman is a bonafide citizen of Taraba state from Jalingo local government who had participated fully in various efforts made by the Taraba APC to consolidate the gains of the party.

According to the statement, the party also wishes to dismiss insinuations that he contested elections in another state as a non issue as many prominent Nigerians have contested elections in other states while still retaining their natural indigeneship.

“Notable examples like Sen Binta Masi, James Falake and the immediate past governor of Osun state, who had served as commissioner in Lagos state, but now a ministerial nominee for Osun state will suffice.

“The APC in Taraba state hereby commend the patience and sacrifice of all its members and appeals to all to regard the nomination of Egnr Sale Mamman as a new window of opportunity to restore the fortunes of the party in the State.

The party called on our elected representatives in the National assembly to diligently work for the successful screening of our nominee for the unity and progress of the party”, the statement concludes.
