The general manager of Yobe state Water Corporation, Engr. Mahdi Baba Zarma, has commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for making drinking and potable water available to residents.

Zarma, who gave the commendation in an interview with Blueprint, said the state water corporation, rehabilitated during Buni’s first tenure, was ready to meet the water demands of Yobe residents.

“The state water corporation recorded a lot of achievements in the areas of water engineering technology and technological know-how, water sanity, water sourcing and supply in towns and villages,” he said.

He also hailed Buni for his giant stride in infrastructure and economic development in the state.

According to him, “The economy of the state was rejuvenated in four years. Education, agriculture, health, infrastructure and administrative structure have also been transformed to global standards in line with Buni’s vision for the state.”

Zarma, while describing Buni as “a unifier and bridge builder,” hailed his leadership qualities when he was the acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “Buni played a significant role in uniting and co-opting the leadership of the party.  He made them work as a team to achieve the desired goals and objectives of the party by inviting and strategically receiving aggrieved and defectors from the opposition party.”
