Wase mourns Senator Longjan


Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, has expressed grief and sadness over the demise of the Senator representing Plateau South senatorial district, Ignatius Longjan, who passed away in the early  hours of Monday in Abuja.


In a condolence message issued by the deputy speaker’s spokesperson, Umar Pumain Abuja, Wase described the senator’s demise as shocking and a great loss to the people of Plateau State and Nigeria in general.


Longjan, who died at the age of 74, was until his death,  a serving  senator representing Plateau south which includes Wase’s constituency, under the platform of he All Progressives Congress (APC), and was Deputy Governor of Plateau State between 2011 and 2015.


He said during his time at the National Assembly, the late senator remained committed to the business of lawmaking and ensured he represented his constituents well against all odds.
“Late Ignatius Longjan was a beacon of hope for many people in Plateau state and for numerous other Nigerians as a result of his dedication to true service and kindness.
“He spent all his life working towards the good of many in Plateau and across the country across his various positions in the public service up to his short time in the National Assembly”, Wase said.
