Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Aliyu Magakardan Wamakko, yesterday inaugurated the state executive committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC), declaring that the party would emerge victorious come 2015 general elections.
He said the APC was the perfect alternative to the PDP “because it posses the qualities and programmes to tackle the country’s lingering security and economic problems.”

He said the truth “will soon prevail because Nigerians are tired of bad governance which the PDP represents.”
The governor said APC government would build a country that “can compete with other nations in terms of development and directions.”
He said: “Under the APC government, every Nigerian will feel free to live wherever he or she wants to live, conduct his activities in peace and harmony.

“We believe that Nigerians needs responsive government whose leaders have the respect for common man, leader that believes every Nigerian should have access to free education, three square meals, shelter, and security so that he or she can sleep with the two eyes closed.”’
In his speech, the new chairman of the party, Alhaji Bala Hasan Abubakar, said the APC was conceived and put in place to bring in the desired change and true democracy where the rule of law, transparency and accountability would reign.
Abubakar, who was until his election was the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, attributed the current insecurity in the country to “PDP’s ineptitude and bad governance.”

“Nigerians are very angry from the killings, kidnappings, looting of the treasury, deception, liars and bad governance that characterise the ruling PDP,” he said.
He called on all well-meaning Nigerians to support the APC “because it is the party formed to preach good governance and bring the desired change.”
