The Super Falcons will now tackle either Cape Verde or Liberia for a place at next year’s WAFCON in Morocco after Sao Tome and Principe pulled out of a first round clash.
Sao Tome were due to face the nine-time African champions between October 22 and 26 before they opted out of the competition.
The Super Falcons were scheduled to take on Sao Tome and Principe in the first leg first round qualifying fixture this weekend.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has already been notified by the decision by Sao Tome and Principe.
The Super Falcons will now take on the winner of the tie between Cape Verde and Liberia in second round.
The tie is scheduled to take place between November 27 and December 5, 2023.
The winner will compete at WAFCON 2024 which will be hosted by Morocco.
The Super Falcons finished in fourth position at the last edition of the competition also hosted by Morocco.
