Wada asks to leave or face wrath of the law

Kogi state government has described kidnapping as ‘an unacceptable act,” and has warned those engaged in such heinous crime to desist or run away from the state.
Governor Idris Wada gave the warning at the weekend when he visited the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Momoh Jimoh Lawal, who was re-united with his two children, kidnapped 61 days ago.
Represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, the governor said the safe recovery of the children was a testament to the ruggedness of the support the present administration in the state had given the security agencies.

He assured of resolute logistics support that would enable security agencies to carry out their responsibilities of protecting lives and property and for the citizenry to sleep with their two eyes closed.
Wada said with the successes the administration had recorded in its transformation agenda, government, the governor assured, would not relent in its efforts to make the state peaceful.

He said: “Despite the pockets of crimes such as kidnapping, amongst others, in the state in recent times, I am warning criminals who want to exploit the peaceful nature of the state to have the fear of God and to seek other legitimate means of making money as the state is ready to fight crime and criminality.”
Wada, who expressed appreciation to the security agencies for their efforts to re-unite the speaker and his family and in making the state habitable, assured the people that government would continue to make the protection of lives and property a priority.
