VON, Galaxy Backbone partner to tell Nigeria’s digital transformation story

The Voice of Nigeria (VON) and Galaxy Backbone have agreed to collaborate to tell successes being recorded in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

The Director General VON Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace made this known Monday when he received the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju who paid him a courtesy visit.

According to Ndace, Galaxy Backbone and Nigerians are doing great things in digital technology within and outside the country, hence, there is the need to tell our positive narratives to the world.

He said, “Galaxy Backbone is doing wonderfully well in the area of digital technology and advancement. It is always easy to connect with like minds.

“I want to assure you and restate the commitment of VON to deepen the relationship between your organisation and ours. There is a need to tell your own story by yourself.

“I am offering you the VON platform to tell Nigerians the good works you are doing. If you want to start a programme today, you have the VON platform.

“We have offices in all the geopolitical zones of the country, and will be willing to cover any of your events in those zones. Let’s continue to work together.”
Ndace lauded president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts to reposition Nigeria among comity of nations.
“President Bola Tinubu has put Nigeria on the global map of progressive countries.

“Therefore, we need to be consistent, deliberate and unapologetic in telling our stories,” he said.

Ndace expressed hope that 2025 would be an important year for his organisation, saying that it would be intentional and at the forefront of telling Nigerian stories.
Speaking earlier, Adeyanju emphasised the company’s commitment to driving digital transformation in Nigeria.

He stated that Galaxy Backbone aims to realise this vision by delivering innovative digital services to both the public and private sectors.
He said Nigeria’s digital infrastructure has been established to benefit all Nigerians, and the world acknowledges that everything has gone digital.
Speaking on the partnership with Voice of Nigeria, he applauded the Director General of Voice of Nigeria for how the organisation has been projecting the country and exporting Nigeria’s perspective to the world.

“We are happy to be associated with the Voice of Nigeria, so we are here to say kudos to the DG for the work he’s been doing at VON and to say, We are proud to be associated with you.

“We want to do more. We want to maybe use VON as well in terms of our publicity.

“The infrastructure we’ve been able to manage is very important, not just for Galactic Backbone, not just for the MDAs, but I would say for Nigerians in general. We are proud to be able to manage 5,000 kilometres of fibre across 30 states. We have two data centres, one in Abuja and another one in Kano, and a host of other things like our network operating centre, our cybersecurity operating centre, and so on.”
