The management of Edo state-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has rusticated 34 students in the College of Medicine of the institution for their alleged involvement in examination malpractices during the 2022/2023 academic sessions.
The affected students were said to have been caught using written materials brought from outside during examination HAE 503.
They were also reported to be in possession of part of the university answer booklet containing answers that were related to the examination being written, in addition to using written materials brought in from outside during examination MMB 504.
A pre-report of the Mobile Students Disciplinary Committee (College of Medicine), 2022/2023 session set up by the management to investigate the incident was reported to have indicted the embattled students.
The report indicated that the affected students were in 500 and 300-levels respectively at the time of the offense.
This was contained in the University news bulletin which was respectively signed by F.O Omoigui, the Deputy Registrar (senate) and Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika, Principal Assistant Registrar (PAR) Information and Public Relations.
In the bulletin dated April 14, 2025, the rusticated students were said to be in the Departments of Hematology, Histopathology, Medical Microbiology, Medicine, Physiology, Chemical Pathology, Medicine and Surgery and FMLS.
