Varsity, hospital begin free medicare in Edo 

The Edo State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) in collaboration with the Edo State University, Uzairue, have commenced a three-day free medical outreach for children between  ages  0 -10 years.

The free medical outreach which is holding at the Teaching Hospita,l Auchi, is part of the week-long activities to mark the 5th convocation ceremony of the university.

The Edo State Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Anthony Okungbowa Esq, who declared the medicare open said, “the health and well-being of our children are of utmost importance to us.”

Okungbowa who was represented by the chairperson of Medical Association of Nigeria, Edo state branch, Dr. Mrs. Ndoka Imoisili, also stated that “it is our responsibility as a community to ensure that every child has access to the quality healthcare they deserve.

“We are aware that many children in our community face various health challenges due to financial constraints or lack of medical facilities, hence, the objective of this medical outreach is to bridge the gap and provide medical services.

“And a team of experienced doctors, nurses and volunteers will work tirelessly to ensure that the children received the best possible care,” he said.

The HOS called on  parents to use the opportunity to bring their children for the free medical services  adding that their participation will not only contribute to the children’s well-being but also reinforce the vision of prioritising the health of the community’s future leaders.
