Uzodinma warns Ihedioha, PDP against further inciting Imolites

Governor Hope Uzodinma has warned his predecessor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha and members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo state to stop forthwith further deliberate incitement and misinformation over claims that he (Ihedioha) and the PDP won the governorship seat.

Senator Uzodinma, who got favourable Supreme Court judgement that sacked Chief Ihedioha as governor of Imo state last month, said having exhausted his patience he may be compelled to bring the weight of the law against those deliberately misleading and inciting the people in the state.

According to the governor, who spoke while addressing members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW in his office in Owerri, he would personally call them to order if they continue to breach public peace.

Governor Uzodinma stated Thursday that his government has come to stay and would subsequently not take it lightly with any person or group of persons inciting Imo people and breaching the relative peace that the people are currently enjoying in the state.

The senator attributed the overwhelming support given to him during the election and subsequently by Imolites as a true reflection of their desires for change, and vowed not to disappoint them.

He assured the leadership that because of the importance of the union in the economic activities in the state, his government would not interfere with their activities in the state, instead would ensure that it remains an integral part of the state economy.

The governor, therefore, asked them to remain resilient and law-abiding, assuring that his administration would work assiduously to address the yearnings of Imo people.

The chairman of the union, Comrade Izuchukwu Okebaram, said the union is duty-bound to support his government, adding that the idea was to demonstrate their love and willingness to work with the new government.
