Senate President Ahmed Lawal was present on Friday during the burial of late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, same day Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state announced the renaming of the State College of Education, Ihitte-Uboma in honour of the departed Lawmaker.
The late Senator, was until his death on December 19, 2019, the member representing Imo North Senatorial District.
Speaking during the event at the Ihitte Uboma council headquarters, Governor Uzodinma said the renaming of the institution was to immortalize the late shift, who he said fought doggedly to shoot his constituency and Imo in general to political limelight.
He eulogised the late Senator on his efforts to attract development to his people while he represented them at National Assembly.
