USA ‘ll invest in Nigeria, Consul-General assures

United States of America Consul General, Mr F. John Bray has said America government is presently interested in investing in Africa, Nigeria youths.

Mr Bray made this known in Ibadan while speaking at the Conference for emerging entrepreneurs held at Ibadan Business School, Bodija.

Represented by the  Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate, Lagos, Mr Russel Brooks, he maintained that the gesture was to generate new ideas and services that can put Nigeria in her rightful position globally.

The Consular General emphasized that as far as the United States is concerned, youths represent the greatest resource for a prosperous Nigeria’s future.

“You may ask why is the U.S. government interested in supporting entrepreneurs,  especially in Africa. That’s a good question and I believe I have a good answer. My answer is that we believe you represent the future of this continent.,” he said.

Mr Bray added, “we believe that Nigeria’s people, especially its young people, are its greatest resource and they can produce a more prosperous future for Nigeria”.

“One less dependent on a single commodity, instead one capable of inventing new products and services that will be attractive to markets around the world, producing the growth, jobs, and incomes that will enable Nigeria to take its rightful place among the leading nations of the world.”

Speaking further, Mr  Bray urged  the emerging enterpreneurs to take risk and not be afraid to fail untill they succeed, saying, 
“Yes, we believe in you and by aiding Field of Skills and Dreams, and other local organizations, we are demonstrating our confidence in what Nigerians can accomplish.”

Commenting on the conference , the Consul General said it has brought together 105 young, talented, ambitious entrepreneurs from the Young African Leaders Initiative Network, adding that the “Initiative, known by the term YALI, is now in its 9th year of inspiring and connecting young leaders to spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security in Africa.”

Chief Executive Officer of Field of Skills and Dreams, Omowale Ogunrinade while speaking charged Nigerian youths to nurtue their brilliant ideas to have recordable and amazing success stories.
