Updated: NUC Executive Secretary, Abdulrasheed, resigns 

The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Abdulrasheed, has voluntarily resigned from the service of the universities regulatory body.

He resigned Monday immediately he approved the establishment of Kogi State University at Kabba, Kogi west senatorial zone.

He said he resigned to continue lecturing at the Bayero University, Kano, from where he was appointed.

Professor Rasheed said the approval of the new Kogi university was effective from Monday June 26, 2023.

The NUC issued a letter of recognition to governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, for the establishment of the new Kogi State University, Kabba.

Professor Abdulrasheed presented the letter to the governor at  NUC auditorium, Abuja, bringing the number of universities in the state to three.
