Updated: How Police rescued ex-AIG Odumosu’s wife from kidnappers den – Official 

The Nigerian Police has rescued former AIG, Hakeem Odumosu’s wife, kidnapped about seven days ago at her residence in Arepo area of Ogun state, 

Report has it that an undisclosed amount paid as ransom was also recovered from the kidnappers. 

The kidnappers had earlier demanded a ransom of N40 million to secure her release.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, made this known via his social media handle Thursday. 

It reads: “Police Neutralise AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife’s Kidnappers, Recover Ransom.

“The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun state, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job. We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country.

“The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, applauded the Ogun state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, and the operatives who carried out the operation.

“He reiterated the force’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring justice prevails.

“Although specific details of the operation remains undisclosed, sources within the force  said a tactical team worked round the clock to track down the abductors, leading to their eventual elimination and the recovery of the ransom money,” Adejobi statement reads.
