Unilorin Abuja office ready soon – Contractor

The University of Ilorin new multi-million naira Abuja liaison office complex is near completion and is expected to be commissioned soon, Alhaji Ibrahim Mutairu Managing Director, Independent Services (Nigeria) Limited, the contractor handling the project, has disclosed.
According to the university’s weekly bulletin, made available to Blueprint, in Abuja, the assurance was given recently shortly after conducting members of the University Governing Council and management team monitored the project located at Gudu District of the Federal Capital Territory.
While conducting the Council members, led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Council, Dr. Abdullah Jibril Oyekan, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, round the complex, the contractor gave an assurance that the job would be completed and delivered to the university authorities by the end of July this year.
Located at 1,849.12 square meters land, the complex, which would serve as offices and guest house, conference room, a restaurant, three suites, 18 single rooms, one lounge, one laundry, three kitchens/kitchenettes, nine general/service toilets, and an expansive parking lots.
Also briefing the Council members, during the facility tour of the complex, the Vice-Chancellor, Ambali, disclosed that the project was funded entirely from the internally generated revenue purse of the university.
Ambali said that apart from serving as the administrative outpost of the University in the Federal Capital Territory, the complex also has facilities for lodging purposes that would serve as another revenue earning window for the university.
In his remarks, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Council, Dr. Oyekan, expressed his delight over the conception and construction of the liaison office/guest house, saying “it is a monument to Ambali’s visionary leadership”.
The council chairman commended the project contractor for a job well done and promptness of completion.
