Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal faces being banned by UEFA over his altercation with Bukayo Saka at half-time of his side’s Champions League defeat to Arsenal.
Arsenal travelled to Spain with a 3–0 advantage from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium.
Saka had the opportunity to make the tie 4–0 on aggregate from the penalty spot, but his attempt was saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Carvajal was seemingly unhappy with Saka’s audacity to try a Panenka penalty at the home of Real Madrid.
As a result, Carvajal, who watched proceedings from the stands due to injury, went over to the England international to speak to him during the half-time break.
The Spaniard was said to have caught the Arsenal man’s neck in the tunnel and also tugged the attacker’s arm while Saka was leaving quietly.
The Real Madrid defender is now set to face punishment from UEFA for his actions.
Saka went on to get his name on the scoresheet by chipping the opposition goalkeeper in the 65th minute.
