U-23 AFCON: Salisu invites 10 foreign players to camp against Tanzania

Nigeria’s U-23 gaffer Salisu Yusuf has invited tem foreign based player to fight for shirts against Tanzania in an AFCON Olympics qualifiers match.

Leading the pack is Sunusi Ibrahim from MLS side Montreal Impact and nine other overseas-based players.

Promise David of Sirens of Malta and Spain-based winger Success Makanjuola are among the call-up by the team technical crew.

Kwara United defender Chris Nwaeze and midfielder Morice Chukwu from Rivers United will also join up with the squad after their club’s international engagements.

The U23s, predominantly made up of players from the domestic league have been training in Ibadan, will fly out to Tanzania on Wednesday ahead of their first leg qualifier at the weekend.

The return leg will be played in Ibadan on October 29, 2022.

The U23 AFCON will also serve as qualifying series for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
