Members of the House of Representatives Monday donated N75 million to the victims of Tudun Biri bomb mishap, while pledging N350 million in infrastructural facilities and social amenities to complement the federal government’s rebuilding plan for the community.
Chairman of the Northern Caucus of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, who led the Northern Caucus to the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House on behalf of the leadership and members of the House of Representatives said the N75 million consists of the pledge made by the speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and other personal and collective donations from the Northern Caucus, amounting to N45 million, while their Southern counterparts supported with N30 million.
He said the N350 million community development support to complement federal Government rebuilding plan, would be in the form of access road to the community, blocks of classrooms, maternity hospital, solar mechanised boreholes with hand pump, police outpost and community hall for the Tudun Biri community.
“I’m here today in absolute nostalgia with my members of Northern Region Caucus Forum. It’s on the absolute mandate and consent of the leader of of the House of Representatives to identify, sympathise and commiserate with the government and people of Kaduna state and the victims of the bomb mishap. To pay our condolences and commiserate with you with the deepest concern that what happened was very regrettable and happened in an unspeakable circumstances.
“The Federal Government has done well in responding to the mishap by the Vice President, on behalf President, with the Speaker House of Representatives Chairman of our great party among others. As representative of the people and in the discharge of our sacred duty as legislators we will collectively ensure that the commitment is done to the later. I want to convey to you the sympathy of the 10th House of Representatives, the concerns of our leader the Speaker to this government and the people of Kaduna state.
