Troops arrest Boko Haram mechanic,1 other in Yobe

Troops of Sector 5, 27 Task Force Brigade, 3 Division, in conjunction Civilian JTF from Maiduguri have arrested Boko Haram mechanic, Audu Ahmadu, Garejin Audu in Potiskum, Yobe State.
Ahmadu, aged 45, specialised in repairs of automobile for Boko Haram terrosits and was at a garage to repair two when he was arrested, army spokesperson, Col. Sani Usman said in a statement.

He said the troops were led to Ahmadu by Ibrahim Jagwal, aged 38, after his arrest at Gishiwa Dabua area of Potiskum, Yobe State. Jagwal was the insurgents leader at Tumbin Gini, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.

Col Sani said the vehicle Ahmadu was working on before his arrest were recovered by the troops, and  the suspects taken into custody for onward movement to Joint Interrogation Centre.
The army spokesperson also said troops of 156 Task Force Battalion, 29 Task Force Brigade engaged the insurgents during clearance patrol at Abalam, South West of Alagarno forest, and rescued 47 people.
“The patrol team also recovered 4 Dane Guns, 3 Bows and 5 packs of arrows containing 114 arrows.    The terrorists’ camp was destroyed while the rescued persons have been moved to Maiduguri Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp,” he said.
