Troops arrest 4 insurgents, robbery suspects in Yobe

Troops of 233 Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army and members of vigilance group on have arrested four fl eeing terrorists at Kurnari village and Nayinawa, outskirts of Damaturu, Yobe state. Th e arrests were made on Monday, according to Army spokesperson, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, in a statement. He said two of the arrested terrorists, Bukar Waziri, 25, and Mammade Lawan, 20, were from Buk, while Muhammadu Damina, 40, and Isah Muhammadu, 15, hailed from Talala, all in Danboa local government area of Borno state. “During preliminary investigation, they claimed that they were fl eeing from the terrorists’ hideout at Talala and Buk in Damboa local government area of Borno state because of the unbearable military’s onslaughts and bombardments on their various locations,” he said. Usman also said troops of 33 Brigade, Nigerian Army, on Operation Forest Kunama II, arrested an armed robbery suspect, Salisu Ibrahim, along Bauchi-Gombe road, following a tip off , at about 10.20pm, on Sunday . “Th e terrorists and armed robbery suspects are being further investigated,” he said
