Troops arrest 2 kidnappers in Bauchi, clear bandits camps in Zamfara

Troops of 33 Brigade Nigerian Army deployed at Forward Operation Base (FOB) for Operation Forest Kunama II have arrested two suspected kidnappers, Mohammed Rabiu and Alhaji Abdullahi Sule, at Kunbuli and Gubeil villages of Bauchi State.
A statement by Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman said the suspects were trailed from Mararraban Liman Katagum Motor Park while communicating with one Mallam Bapashi Namutunji and demanding for the sum of One million Naira  ransom, while also threatening to destroy his victim’s entire family members if he fails to comply.

He said the troops recovered the sum of One Hundred and Sixty Naira, Gionee mobile telephone handset, an Itel phone and a bunch local charms and talisman.
Also troops on Operation SHARAN DAJI have destroyed several armed bandits and livestock rustlers camps in Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
Army spokesperson said the troops neutralised nine armed bandits/livestock rustlers during the operations within the area.
“Similarly, they arrested 2 suspected armed bandits, Awidi Mohammed and Mummuni Mohammed and recovered stolen 292 cows, 44 rams and 17 donkeys from them,” he said.
“ Similarly, the troops also arrested one Abdullahi Abubakar, a suspected key accomplice of the notorious armed bandit called “Buharin Daji.”
He said repentant cattle rustlers are providing valuable information in ongoing operations, following the peace talks initiated by 1 Division Nigerian Army with relevant stakeholders and Miyetti Allah, cattle rearers association.
