Total leads gainers’ table as market cap gains N59bn

Total Nigeria Plc yesterday led the gainers table at the nation’s stock market, appreciating by N3.90 kobo to close at N167.90 kobo.
Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N2.11 kobo to close at N230.00  while CAP Plc grew by N2.00 to close at N42.00. Guinness Nigeria Plc and Unilever Nigeria Plc also advanced by N2.00 and N1.75 kobo respectively to close at N199.00 and N46.50 kobo.

On the contrary,  ‎Nestle Nigeria Plc recorded the highest loss for the day, dropping by N11.00 to close at N1100.00, Seplat trailed with a loss of N6.46 kobo to close at N627.00 while Okomu Oil Palm depreciated by N1.10 kobo to close at N36.70 kobo. Other stocks that depreciated in price were UACN and International Breweries which loss N0.49 kobo each to close at N59.01 kobo  and N26.01 kobo respectively.  The transactions during the day indicated that market capitalisation went up by N59 billion or 0.45 per cent to N12.889 trillion from N12.830 trillion traded the previous day.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All Share Index (ASI) dropped by 214.24 basis points to 39194. 09 points from 39408.33 traded the previous day.            An analysis of the investment showed that FBN Holdings recorded the highest volume of activities  for day, trading 127.179 million shares valued at N1.594 billion, Zenith International Bank Plc followed with account of 46.048  million shares worth N1.064 billion,  Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) traded 18.970 million shares valued at N529.907 million while Ecobank Transnational Incorporated exchanged 16.866 million shares cost N222.613 million. Transnational Corporation of Nigeris  (Transcorp) sold 15.212 million shares worth N55.438 million.
