The minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has assured Nigerians that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which is already yielding fruits in different facet of the society will be consolidated in the year 2025.
The minister stated on Tuesday in his remarks at the management retreat of Voice of Nigeria (VON) in Abuja.
“There’s no doubt, I assure you, that the year 2025, will consolidate Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda reforms, which is already yielding good results in different facets of our socio-economic and political life,” he said.
The minister said President Tinubu is implementing an ambitious fiscal reform agenda that will devolve more resources to Nigeria’s state and local governments, and ultimately to the Nigerian people.
Idris charged the media especially public broadcaster to strive and always projects and shape positive narrative about Nigeria, especially the grains being recorded by the current administration.
He said: “The Voice of Nigeria must be able to tell the world that Nigeria is working again; that we are winning the war on terrorism, banditry, and ethnic warlords that seemed to define us lately; that we are renergising our population towards sustainable productivity; that our young population has a clearer path to quality tertiary education through the National Education Loans (NEL) Fund, and importantly, that our nation is going through an energy transition phase that will guarantee more sustainable electricity and gas to power our homes and machinery.”
Idris also tasked VON to leverage on technology in order to compete globally.
“For media organisations like VON to compete in a crowded global field, technology must be a priority.
“You must leverage new and emerging digital technologies to improve the quality and reach of what you do here, and to ensure that you continue to stay relevant in these ever-changing times,” he said.
In his remarks, the director general of VON, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, said his leadership philosophy has been guided by a three-pronged approach focused on People, Platform, and Partnerships.
“People are the heartbeat of VON. This includes my directors, deputy directors, unit heads, reporters, security personnel, NYSC members, interns, and all staff who make up this dynamic organization.
“I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork,” he said.
He said he has strengthened relationships with external stakeholders by attending key events and activities.
This he said demonstrates his commitment to serving as Nigeria’s trusted voice to the world.
