Tinubu, Oyegun blast FG over govs’ arrest

The Peoples Democratic Party-led federal government came under knocks yesterday from the national leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, and the chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, for allegedly misusing the security agencies against the people.
This is just as the deputy chairman of the PDP in Ekiti state, Hon. Femi Bamisile, Justice Edward Ojuolape (rtd), and five other leaders of the party defected to the APC.

Speaking yesterday in Ado Ekiti, the APC leaders described the arrest of the governor of River state, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi,  and the disallowing of the governors of Sokoto and Kano states, Aliyu  Wamakko and Rabiu Kwankwaso, from  landing at Akure  Airports for the APC rally in Ado Ekiti as a” flagrant abuse of power.”
Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Rocha Okorocha,
governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun, and a chieftain of the party, Audu Ogbeh , urged Nigerians to resist the PDP’s efforts to plunge the country into anarchy.
They all said this yesterday during a mega rally organised to drum support for Governor Kayode Fayemi’s re-election in Ado Ekiti.

Going by the account of the former Governor of Ekiti State and APC Deputy Chairman (South), Engr Segun Oni, Amaechi and other Governors like Adams Oshiomole could not attend the rally because they were prevented from landing   at the airport by soldiers.

But in telephone chat with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Public Relations Officer of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Ondo state, Capt. Ademola Adegoke, refuted the allegation, saying that “such did not happen.”
Oni advised the people to reject those he described as “locusts” from gaining entrance into the Government’s House again.
Tinubu, who described continuity as “the bedrock of development,” said “the development in Lagos state was caused b continuity and if you want such to happen in Ekiti, you have to vote for Dr Kayode Fayemi in this election.”
“You should not only vote, allow them to count in your presence. You must guard your votes. Don’t allow them to rig the election and this is the best way you can conquer them.”
