Tinubu approves N9bn Life Assurance for federal workers  – Minister  

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved N9 billion for Group Life Assurance for federal government workers, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, has said. 

The minister stated this in Minna Tuesday while speaking at the Niger state NIPR conference. 

He said, “The president has approved the resolution to increase Primary Healthcare centers from 8,300 to 17,600, and approved N9billion for Group Life Assurance for federal government workers.”

Represented by the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON),  Jibrin Baba Ndace,  the minister  stated that the federal government is aware of the rising cost of staple foods in our markets, adding that, ” practical steps are being taken to ameliorate the situation.”.

He stated that President Tinubu’s emergency meeting with all the state governors produced some far-reaching decisions  including directing the NSA, DSS and the IGP to coordinate with the state governors and check the activities of those hoarding food commodities so that the federal government  can control the prices.

Malagi assured that the nation  will overcome the prevailing challenges adding that, “we came well-prepared as a government and we will keep our promise.”

He commended Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for the timely decision to halt bulk buying of food items for hoarding in the state. 

“Let me use this opportunity to on behalf of the federal government applaud the effort of the Niger state governor, Mohammad Umaru Bago, for the timely decision to halt bulk-buying of food items for hoarding. This no doubt helped in the recent reduction of the cost of food items in the state,” he said.
