The Cabals and the Naked Dance: A collection of short stories to be unveiled soon

Short Story collections, written by Prof. Mnguember Vicky Sylvester,  a Professor of Literature and Gender Studies at the University of Abuja, has recently been completed and is due for unveiling anytime soon.

While giving a teaser to the book, the author said that people that wallow through these tough times of evolving democracy in Nigeria characterize the collection.
She said: “The Cabals and the Naked Dance, a collection of 15 stories that capture the day to day lives of the people. Poor infrastructure and under development, corruption, search for education, medical care and the long talked about Cabals who cannot be defined is captured as an attitude that keeps people from a creative and fulfilling life.”
Prof. Sylvester  is a poet and biographer. She has twelve edited books, Kogi State Handbook: The Path of Progress(2001), a collection of short stories, The Cabals and the Naked Dance(2015) Inikpi Om’Idoko (A play) 2007),  a collection of poetry, Zuma Rock and Other Poems(1997). Her critical books include Understanding the Writings of Nigerian Women (2005), Studies in Buchi Emecheta, Long Shadows (2015), a highly riveting account of one of the most tumultuous period in the history of the Tiv crisis in 1964.
