A female staff of Tecno Phones Nigeria Limited and four others have been arrested for company theft in Wuse.
According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, the Police Assistant Superintendent Officer, (ASP) Peter Okechukwu, the female staff, identified as Chimeze Stella, and four others; Abdulazeez Abdulrasheed, Okafor Okwudilli, Moses Joseph and Peter Akoo, were arrested in Wuse for conspiring to steal four Techno phones and seven phone screens valued at N500, 000.
“The female in question is a dismissed staff of Tecno Phones Nigeria Limited,” Okechukwu said, adding that “she parades herself as an existing staff with the company whereby duping other customers who are aware that she is still a staff of the company.”
Okechukwu said luck ran out on her when she conspired with the other four men to rob an outlet of Tecno Phones Nigeria Limited in Wuse.
According to him, they will be arraigned in the court as soon as investigation is completed.
He urged owners of companies to always update outlets under their care on the existing staff on ground to avoid such happenings.
“These will help the company to curb all ex-staff of theirs to delve into using the company to commit such act.”
In another development, one Musa Babaji and Salisu Mustapha aged between 20 and 22 were arrested for robbing passersby along a lonely road at Dagwana Village, Jikwoyi.
A motorcycle allegedly robbed from a passerby was recovered from them.
