Taraba retirees endorse Kefas for second term 

 

The Taraba state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Wednesday, endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for the 2027 governorship election.

The Taraba state chairman of pensioners, Alhaji Mamudu Famlak Yaro, made the declaration during the flag-off ceremony for payment and pay-rolling of 1134 local government retirees, at the Taraba state local government staff pension Board, Jalingo.

The chairman disclosed that the senior citizens were moved by the governor’s priority for the well-being of retirees, and the continued efforts to redefine governance that has so far attracted transformation in all sectors, placing Taraba on the global map of development.

He stressed that Taraba was rated 3rd among states with exceptional commitment for the welfare of retirees in the last NUP national meeting in Abuja.

“We wish to sincerely commend Governor Agbu Kefas for his passion for the wellbeing of both local government and state retirees.

Meanwhile, Hon. Abel Peter Diah, the chairman Taraba State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said Governor Kefas was committed to ensuring good governance in both infrastructural and human development.

The former state assembly speaker commended the retirees for their patience and appealed for more support to the governor.

Earlier, Mr. Andrew Dame the permanent secretary Bureau for Local Government, Traditional and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the executive secretary, Taraba State Local Government Pension Board, Mr. Thomas Daniel Maiyanga, both hailed the governor for the gesture.
