Suspected herdsmen kill 48 in Taraba

Not fewer than forty eight people lost their lives in the multiple attacks of suspected herdsmen in three communities in Jalingo and Lau local government areas’ of Taraba state.
The suspected herders, according to sources for the affected communities lunched an attack on a village called Kunini in Lau local government area in the dead of the night and killed about twenty five people.
They are also said to have destroyed property worth millions of naira.
But police however confirmed eight people dead in the attack in kunini ward, Lau local government area of Taraba state.
Meanwhile, the communities of Ruwan Sama and Lave communities in Yelwa Ward, Jalingo local government area of the state where people suspected to be herders, attacked and killed twenty three people and also destroyed property worth millions of Natural.
The supervisory councilor for agriculture, Jalingo local government council, Hon.
Bala Kona told Blueprint on phone that a lot of internally displaced people from the affected communities have flooded Kona village.
According to him, even right inside Jaliongo town, there’s a lot of human traffic in the town.
But there is no refugee camp opened for the internally displaced people.
He also said there is a lot of humanitarian crises in the houses harboring the displaced people as their numbers are overwhelming on the families.
