Suspected bandits kills 25yr-old Amotekun operative in Oyo

A 25-year-old operative of Amotekun was on Tuesday shot dead by suspected armed bandits at Fiditi town, in Afijio local government area of Oyo state

According to the Oyo state Commandant of Amotekun Corps, Col Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), during the attack, another Amotekun operative was shot by the suspected bandits.

Col Olayanju (rtd) in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan said the suspected bandits numbering about 11 ambushed the Amotekun operatives at Living Farms in Fiditi.

He stressed that the operatives were escorting the staff of the farm to the farm when it was invaded by the armed bandits, adding that the other shot Amotekun operative, Amo Yisau caught by bullets from the bandits  survived and is receiving treatment at the General Hospital Owode Oyo.

Col Olayinka (rtd) said the deceased Amotekun operative Suleiman Quadir who left behind an aged father, a wife and a son has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
