Super Eagles cancel training, Amokachi missing

The Super Eagles Monday  evening cancelled their schedule Monday evening training after the morning session was over stretched.

The team will resume training Tuesday morning and they will be expected to train twice.

The 16 players who have reported in camp, however, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidozie Awaziem trained separately from the group.

The newly appointed assistants of coach Finidi George were also present except for Daniel Amokachi who is conspicuously absent. No reasons was given.

Several players like Calvin Bassey and Ademola Lookman, who featured for his Italian club Atalanta in a rescheduled Serie A match Sunday night, are still being expected.

The Super Eagles will welcome South Africa to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday in continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Kick-off time is 8pm.
