Sule locks down Nasarawa LG for 3 days over Coronavirus scare


Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state Tuesday, announced a total lockdown of Nasarawa local government area of the state for three days with effect from Wednesday 6 May.


The decision followed the death of the state House of Assembly member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency, Suleiman Adamu due to COVID 19 infection.


The state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism Mr Dogo Shamah announced this while briefing newsmen at the end of an expanded security meeting in Lafia.


Sule said the locking down of the local government was to prevent spread of COVID- 19.


He explained that the state government had eased out the lock down on Karu local government area to go in line with the existing curfew between 8pm and 6am in the state.


He however, enforced the compulsory wearing of face masks across the state from 6th May, 2020.
