Ttwo female suicide bombers infiltrated and gained entry into Biu town in Biu Local Government Area of Borno state.
One of the bombers, according to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Borno State Command, Dsp Victor Isuku, detonated IED strapped on her body within Biu Main market, while the other one detonated outside d market square.
A total of 13 persons excluding the two suicide bombers were confirmed killed in the two explosions, which occurred last Saturday; while 53 others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Isuku said Police patrols/EOD teams led by d Acting Area Commander Biu came to scene.
“The Corpses & the injured persons have been evacuated to General Hospital Biu. Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored and the area rendered safe,” he said.
