Subsidy: 65,000 bags of rice available for distribution to Imo citizens – Uzodimma

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has disclosed that 65,000 bags of rice will be distributed to Imo people in the first phase of the palliative to cushion the effect of the removal of petrol subsidy by the federal government

According to him, the Palliative Distribution Committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Cosmas Iwu, would make sure that the stuff gets to the commonest man on the streets, irrespective of party level and that anybody who contravenes the rules of the exercise would be arrested by security agents as government would take seriously any report  of political partisanship.

The governor also disclosed that part of the expected fleet of vehicles would be added to the ones used to convey Imo workers to and from work, and that the rest would be used to rebrand  the state transport company to ensure that commuters get to different parts of the state and beyond at reduced fares.
