SUBEB: Yobe communities seek inclusion for better implementation

awarding State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) contracts,
saying it would help them monitor the implementation base on
specifications of the bills of quantity.

Representatives of Bayamari, Dapchi among other communities disclosed

copies of the bills of quantity.”

for close supervision by the SUBEB and the affected communities.

Morakinyo, said one of the major success stories in Yobe was the
ability of government to share information on the ongoing projects.

“The SUBEB was kind enough to bring us here and gave us all the
contractors’ details, amount approved for the projects and bills of
quantity to track the projects.

“In today’s mega town hall meeting, we are bringing SUBEB, the
contractors and the community leaders to have face to face discussion
with government and also discuss hiccups of the on-going projects.

“The communities have been taught on how to tract funds and will be
given template to report implementation of projects within their
environs to help the government be accountable,” he said.

Morakinyo, further, stated that since the coming of Connected Development in Yobe state, communities have started to know the importance of being
involved in the government policies and the issue of ownership.

Blueprint gathered that the complains would be compiled and forwarded to SUBEB for necessary action.
