The massacre of over 40 students at the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, Gujba local government area of Yobe state by suspected Boko Haram members had been described as “a clear indication of a failed government.”
Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Hon. Salisu Ado Daura (APC) representing Daura/Maiaduwa/Sandamu federal constituency in Katsina state, said President Goodluck Jonathan administration was incapable of tackling insecurity problems in the country.

He stressed that the only achievement of President Jonathan had been killing and continued killings of Nigerians, adding that why Katsina state was not experiencing insecurity “even though it is a border state was because the state is controlled by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
Asked if he was not worried about the spate of insecurity in the land and to proffer solutions, Daura said “I am more than worried. Everybody should be very worried.

“The security challenge is a very serious one. In developed nations, this will not happen. Every day, people are just being killed and we say there is state of emergency in Borno state, is it working?”
On whether he agreed with the position of Borno state Governor, Ibrahim Kashim Shettima, that the military were not motivated as much as the Boko Haram members, he said: “To me, he is more than right. But the government was just playing it down as if the governor does not know what he was saying.

“But the man knows because these things are happening right under his nose and watch. What have we achieved so far? Instead of hearing of one achievement you hear of massive killings.
“So, the government is not capable. The government says it is war which is what it is, so if we can’t defeat a war that is taking place within, can we then be able to defend Nigeria against external aggression? I don’t think so. We can’t defend Nigeria anymore.”
