Stock market sustains bullish run, gains N174bn

The Nigeria’s equity market Thursday sustained its growth profile as the Nigerian Exchange ( NGX) key  market indicators appreciated by 0.62 per cent.

Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N174 billion  to N28.349 trillion, representing 0.62 per cent from N28.175 trillion reported the previous day.

The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by  318.98 basis points to 52048.85 points, indicating a growth of 0.62 per cent  from 51729.87 reported the previous day.

Investors traded 211.743 million shares valued at N7.725 billion in 3462 deals against 281.944 million shares cost N8.158 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 3679 deals.

A review of the Investment during the day showed that Ellahlakes and Lasaco Insurance Plc led gainers table during the day, increasing by 10.00 per cent each  to close at  N3.96 and N1.10 per unit respectively. International Breweries followed  with a gain of 8.60 per cent to N5.05, Dangote Sugar gained 7.19 per cent to N17.15, SUNU Assurance increased by 6.90 per cent to N0.31.

On the contrary Abbey Building topped losers chart during the day, declining by 10.00 per cent to N1.53, Chellaram Plc trailed with a loss of 9.76 per cent to close at N1.48 per  Unit. FTNCocoa declined by 3.57 per cent to N0.27, Nahco fell by 3.55 per cent to N6.80, Royal Exchange dipped by 2.00 per cent to N0.98.
