Stock market gains N24bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday returned to bullish trend, gaining N24 billion.

Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by 0.16 per cent to N14.362 trillion from N14.338 trillion reported the previous day. The NSE All Share Index also appreciated by 45.83 basis points to 27568.91 points from 27523.08 points recorded on Wednesday.

Investors traded 484.991 million shares worth N3.589 billion in 4187 deals against 290.154 million shares valued at N5.024 billion in 3528 deals.

An analysis of the transactions for the day showed that BUA Cement Plc led gainers table during the day, appreciating by N1.05 kobo to close at N36.05 kobo, C& I Leasing followed with a gain of N0.50 kobo to close at N6.85 kobo,United Capital gained N0.32 kobo to close at N3.54 kobo, Africa Prudential Registrar added N0.13 kobo to close at N5.25 kobo, Ikeja Hotel gained N0.11 kobo to close at N1.21 kobo.

On the contrary, SFS Real Estate Investment Trust recorded the highest loss during the day,dropping by N8.55 kobo to close at N76.95 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank trailed with a loss of N0.40 kobo to close at N28.00, Oando Plc down by N0.23 kobo to close at N3.26 kobo, Zenith Bank fell by N0.10 kobo to close at N19.40 kobo while Champion Breweries sheds N0.09 kobo to close at N0.88 kobo.
