Stay-at-home: Bomai donates N10m, 14, 000 bags of grains to constituents


As part of efforts to bring succour to his constituents following the stay at home order given by the goverment as a result of the outbreak of coronavirus, senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, representing Yobe South in national assembly, has distributed 14, 000 bags of food items to the people of the area as well as N10 million cash to 1, 000 women. 


Distributing the items on Saturday, the senator explained that it is part of the efforts to ensure that the global emergency caused by COVID-19 with its attendant economic stagnation does not strangulate his people.


“The donation of 14, 000 bags of grains and empowering 1, 000 women with cash gift of N10, 000 each, is to cushion the effects of COVID-19 which has compelled Nigerians to stay at home.” He said.


A politicain Alhaji Ibrahim Bodore while speaking on how the distribution will be done stated that, the distribution will cover 44 wards within the 4 local government areas of the senatorial zone, which comprises Potiskum, Nangere, Fika and Fune local governments. 


He said the gesture is to extend a helping hand to members of theconstituency.


“That the grains will be distributed across the senatorial zone, this is not an issues, Bomai has been doing this for the past 10 years, we used to call him, Mai shinkafa, everywhere you go. There are some youths empowerment progrmmes that will soon be introduced by the senator.”
