The General Overseer, Christian Victory Prayer Ministry, Enugu, Pastor Dan Obinegbo, has called journalists and media practitioners to come close to God and seek Him at all times.
Obinegbo also called on them to embrace Christ and to shun debauchery, worldliness and carefree life to eschew the end time damnation.
The General Overseer who was a sports writer made the call when members of the Enugu State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) did a Thanksgiving in his church at the Ministry ground on Sunday, Upper One Day Road, Enugu as part of their 2023 SWAN week activities.
The man of God who recounted how he dropped journalism to answer God’s call, said he found himself identifying himself as a journalist instead of a child of God.
“I felt that something was wrong that instead of identifying myself as a child of God, I rather showed people my ID card as a journalist. At a stage I said no, this must not be and I dropped my pen and today, I am spreading the gospel,” he said.
While urging journalists to embrace God, he condemned a situation where newsmen drink themselves to stupor and urged them to be filled with the Holy Spirit rather being filled with wine.
He said since he gave his life to God, God has been using him to do exploits like healing all manner of diseases including madness.
He however expressed joy that SWAN members deemed it to identify with him as their former members by coming to do a Thanksgiving service in his ministry.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the SWAN week committee, Mr. Ignatius Okpara of the African Examiner said that the SWAN members were at the church service to seek the face and blessings of God for the week-long activities marking the 2023 SWAN week.
