Southern Kaduna monarchs commend El-Rufai

Traditional rulers from Southern parts of Kaduna state have passed a vote of confidence on Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai for his style of governance and administration and for restoring peace back to the area.

Speaking when they paid a courtesy visit to the governor yesterday in Kaduna, the traditional rulers, made up of emirs and chiefs, expressed appreciation to the governor for his wise decision to re-open tertiary institutions in the Southern Kaduna after a long closure.

They also commended him for carefully observing the security situation in Southern Kaduna, before ordering reopening of the schools and pledged their support for the success of the administration.

The Chief of Kagoma, Col. Paul Zakka (retd) said the governor’s effort at bringing succour to the crises-ridden parts of the state, was a mastery of turning defeat to victory.

While commending the governor for his wise decision to reopen the school at the appropriate time, Zakka assured El-Rufai led administration that traditional rulers from Southern Kaduna are committed to and will maximally support his administration.

“Malam Nasir El-Rufai has a lot of  stuff for Kaduna state. With the privilege you have given to me as a member of the Security Council, I think I know everything that is happening from the beginning to the end”.

“You have studied the situation and have mastered the art of turning the defeat in the area to victory, we are grateful your Excellency. On behalf of all traditional rulers who are here this evening, let me say it loud and clear that all the traditional rulers here are committed to go along with you in this success lane,” he added.

Governor el-Rufai, who welcomed the traditional rulers, said his administration had no hidden agenda in keeping the students away from school.

“The students from the affected tertiary institutions lost nearly nothing, as they were diverted to main campuses in Kaduna to continue their studies”, he said.

El-Rufai, who expressed gratitude to all the chiefs and security agents  over the improvement on security situation of Southern Kaduna, said: “Thirty-five per cent of budget in the state is on education, which to us is the best gift given to ordinary man.”
