Sokoto varsity secures full accreditation for 18 degree courses – VC

The Sokoto State University (SSU) said it has secured full accreditation status to all the 18 undergraduate degree programmes it presented for accreditations to the National University Commissions.

Vice Chancellor of the university , Professor Bashi Garba, who disclosed this in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Sokoto by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Malam Zayyanu Shehu, also said the university will forever remain committed for maintaining academic standard.

According to him, the fully accredited degree programs included, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry , Mathematics, Microbiology

Others were, Economics, Political Science, Sociology ,Arabic, Hausa , History and Islamic Studies, Education Computer Science , Education Mathematics, Education Physics, Education Biology and Education Chemistry among others

He said that the full accreditation of the 18 undergraduate degree programs has underscore the university’s commitment to academic excellence and it’s dedication to meet up with highest standard as required by the National University Commission NUC

He said that with this development, the university has joined the ranks of few universities in the country that have all undergraduate programs accredited by the courses accreditation body

“The full accreditation status , is a resounding enforcements of the Sokoto state University academic standard and its capacity to produce graduates who can make a meaningful impact in their chosen field and do the state proud” the VC averred

Prof Garba assured that the university would continue to dedicate more time, energy and resources in the accredited deegree programs

While acknowledging the current administration’s quest to give sojund education to people, the vice chancellor said that the management and staff of the university will forever remain ready to work hard and justify the enormous resources committed into the university by the Ahmed Aliyu’s administration in the state

He praised the enormous contributions of the development partners particularly the Tetfund which he noted as the backbone of university education in Nigeria

Prof Bashir also noted that the Tetfund funding initiatives has enabled universities in the country upgrade its infrastructure, procure modern equipment and train its personnel

He commended the founder of the university, Senator Aliyu Magatakardan Wamakko for his foresight and initiative to establish the university which according to him the state was earnestly yearning for

Prof Garba appreciated the effort and commitment of the ministry for high education and all staff of the university whom he said without their unwavering support and determination the recorded success could not have been possible
