Sokoto Commission of inquiry grants Tambuwal’s request to adjourn sitting

The Sokoto state Commission of Enquiry constituted to investigate immediate past administration in the state had on Tuesday granted an application forwarded by a former governor of the state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, requesting the commission to adjourn the sitting earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday.

Senator Tambuwal who was expected to appear on Tuesday to testify on his steadwardship, forwarded his request through Barrister Nuhu Adamu.

He told the commission during Tuesday’s proceeding that the former governor and his counsel could not gets flight from Abuja to Sokoto.

Meanwhile, senior counsel to the Commission, Dr Lima did not object the application but advised the commission to suspend the former governor’s appearance until it exhaust all the witnesses in all the memos which Tambuwal’s name was mentioned

He said that out of the 7 memos presented, Tambuwal’s name was mentioned in number 1,2,3,4,5, and 7

“Tambuwal was a former executive governor of Sokoto state and Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, so let’s accord him that recognition

“I could remember when similar thing came with the former governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa the then commission of Enquiry did not invited Bafarawa till after it had exhausted all the witnesses in memos presented before it,” he said

The commission had also adjourned sitting on the memo number 7 because the remaining witnesses did not appear .

The commission granted request as forwarded and request Barr Nuhu Adamu to communicate to Tambuwal and his counsel
