The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria yesterday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to sign into law the 2O14 budget without any further delay.
The group said the president’s accent became necessary to allow ministries, departments and agencies (MDA) access funds to implement their provisions for national security against the backdrop of incessant bomb-blasts in the northern parts of the country.
In a statement issued in Ilorin yesterday by its national coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the group stated that “it is unfortunate that terrorists now targets schools, markets, mosques and churches for their dastardly acts.”

It said: “This has called for total overhaul of nation’s security strategies with a view of installing gadgets capable of detecting carriers IEDs so as to get the criminals arrested before they commit their crimes.
“We reiterate our call for the suspension of political rallies by all parties until the Chibok girls are re-united with their families and bomb-blasts-tensions are doused.
“We commend President Jonathan for cancelling his political rally earlier scheduled for Ado-Ekiti tomorrow.”
