Shinkafi writes Tinubu, Ganduje on Zamfara APC crisis

The All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain in Zamfara state, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman of APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on the ugly situation of the party in the state, saying imposition of candidates in 2027 would not work.

Dr Shinkafi who escaped assassination attempt last Friday by alleged bandits and political thugs following his recent cristicizim of imposition of party candidates, urged President  Tinubu to act fast and save APC in the state from insecurity before it is too late.

The APC chieftain who addressed a press conference Saturday night in Gusau at the state capital narrated  how he was attacked at Rabi’at Jummu’at Mosque when he attended a wedding fatiha in the state.

“The ugly situation of APC in Zamfara state is devastating and President Tinubu and our party national chairman, Ganduje should act fast to save Zamfara APC before it is too late,” he stated.

Dr Shinkafi lamented that the alleged attackers who attempted to assassinate him were members of his own party which he described as deliberate attempt to silence him over recent calls for justice.

“I recognised my attackers as APC members and this is clearly a mission to silence me because I openly criticized  imposition of candidates ahead of 2027 general elections and failure to arrest notorious bandits kingpin Bello Turji.

“We all saw how APC lost Zamfara in 2019 and 2023 due to the imposition of candidates and this will not happen again,” he said.
