Five former aides of Borno state Governor Kashim Shettima have won election to represent their various federal constituencies in the House of Representatives following last Saturday’s National Assembly election conducted by INEC.
The new lawmakers-elect include the four past commissioners and a chairman of an agency.
The ex-commissioners are that of health, higher education, water resources, local government affairs and the chairman of Borno SEMA, who won their Representatives seats on the platform of the APC.
They are Dr Haruna Mshelia, Ahmadu Usman Jaha, Dr Zainab Gimba, Usman Zannah, and Engr. Satomi Ahmed.
Dr. Zainab the only elected female had earlier against all odds emerge winner of the the party’s primaries last September. She contested the Bama/Ngala/Kala-Balge federal constituency seat.
Also, she polled 73,837 votes to win against her closest rival, another female Fatima Zara Saleh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 6,228 votes. Mshelia will represent Askira–Uba/Hawul federal constituency
Similarly, Hon. Usman Zanah emerged the winner of Kaga/Magumeri/Gubio federal constituency having polled 30,683 against the PDP’s Bilal Ali who got 7,722 votes.
Jaha emerged the winner of Chibok/Damboa/Gwoza federal constituency having polled 151,031 votes against Zanna Mohammed Abbagana of the PDP, who got 21,351 votes.
