A former Commissioner for Rural Development in Kano state, Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Shekarau, has asked Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to stop blackmailing their boss, Ibrahim Shekarau and re-introduce Ramadan and Sallah ram bonuses for civil servants.
The ex-commissioner’s challenge came following the House of Assembly’s summons on he and his works counterpart to appear before it on Monday, next week, to explain the billions of naira allegedly siphoned during their administration through contracts.

The PDP chieftain, who is one of those that crossed over to the PDP from the APC with former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, told Blueprint that what the state government wanted to do “is an indirect probe of former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau,” saying “let them come out openly and probe the former governor because we have nothing to hide; we ran a transparent government.”
Iliyasu, Kwankwaso’s uncle, called on the APC governor not to “waste his precious time blackmailing political opponents.”

“Ramadan is approaching, so he should re-introduce Sallah and Ramadan bonuses for Kano civil servant; this is an exercise they enjoyed when Malam Ibrahim Shekarau was the governor.”
At the time of this report, Governor Kwankwaso had summoned the owners of Tec Construction Company handling the fly over in Kano and the contractors handling the five kilometer roads in the 44 local governments for a meeting.
