The Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi has expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, founder of the Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation, for her support during the recent flood disaster that affected the Borno Emirate.
In a letter dated October 23, 2024, the Shehu conveyed appreciation on behalf of the Borno Emirate Council and the community, recognizing Dr. Tejuosho’s visit and substantial contributions during a difficult time. He noted that her assistance provided essential relief, including food and shelter, offering hope to those impacted by the floods.
“Your kindness and generosity made a tangible difference in the lives of those affected,” the Shehu stated, emphasizing that such philanthropic efforts have been crucial in supporting the recovery process. He added that acts of compassion highlight the community’s strength and resilience, reinforcing the idea that collective support can sustain people through crises.
Dr. Tejuosho’s contributions were part of a larger effort that included notable donors such as Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Aminu Dantata. Besides financial support, Tejuosho provided relief materials like bedsheets, mats, mattresses, and food items, aiding distressed residents.
The Shehu concluded with prayers for continued collaboration among benefactors and wished Dr. Tejuosho abundant blessings for her assistance.
Dr. Tejuosho, known for her extensive humanitarian work, has previously empowered thousands of youths in states including Kaduna, Abuja, and Jos, leading to calls for her to be appointed Humanitarian Affairs Minister. However, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chose Nentawe Yiltawa for the role.
